The village                                                      

In the heart of Barbagia stands Desulo, a typical mountain village. The event is considered a very important stage in the annual fairs calendar and is also the most significant showcase for exhibiting and enhancing mountain products. They develop the aspects of mountain life, the landscape with autumn features, exposed and sold mountain products such as chestnuts, nuts, hazelnuts, and then hams, sausages and even tasty mushrooms, typical desulphous bread called bread " Cicci ", cheeses and cakes. All products are increasingly demanded by the new markets. Desulus chestnuts, famous throughout Sardinia, are good roast or boiled and chestnut honey is among the most sought after. The Montanaru Award is one of the most important events of our Island.   The churchs  
  In Desulo there are 5 churches in San Sebastiano, Carmelo, the Parish of Sant'Antonio Abate and the old one next to the Parish, the church of Santa Croce and the countryside of Tascusi. San Sebastiano is located in the Asuai Ward of Carmel in the Ward of Ovolaccio and that of Sant 'Antonio Abate in the Rione of Issiria and that of Santa Croce always in the same Ward.   There is an ancient religious institution that is handed down from the past and shows the popular worship of our parish: the Priestess Companions. These play a very important role in different happy or sad moments of life, they are mainly concerned with organizing religious festivals, caring for the decoration of churches, assisting the sick and needy, reciting prayers for the dying and accompanying of the deceased. The Priestesss participate in processions or funerals, they wear the traditional desert dress during all the religious processions, and carry handles of stencils and candles. Their presence gives them a sense of solemnity and faithful participation in faith. The Compagnie are nine: there are those of St. Anthony Abate, of the Sacred Heart, of St. Joseph, of the Holy Cross, and of the Madonna of the Rosary; To Ovolaccio that of the Madonna del Carmine, of San Basilio and Santa Rita; To Asuai that of San Sebastiano and of the Madonna del Rimedio.
